My spiritual journey so far has not been much different from what my life’s journey has been. If there is one thing which stands out in this–or in other words, if I had to choose one word which best highlights and defines everything so far– it would be the word “irreverence.”
As far back as I can see, this has always been the case. Whether it’s parents or teachers in school and college, my managers (they suffered it the most), my spiritual teachers or everyone, such has been the case. Interestingly, this lack of reverence is also associated with a deep reverence for only a few people.
Reasons for this irreverence have both been nature and experience, or you can put it as “experiences in past lives” and “experience in this life.”
One reason for this is universal incompetence. When people push theories and beliefs which do not hold any truth, it reinforces irreverence.
